Dear Angela

Re: Library closures in your constituency

I am writing concerning the proposed closures of 14 libraries and 3 leisure centres in your constituency and the local area.

The proposals, as I understand them, have had widespread opposition from the local community and from yourself and fellow MPs.  The decision to restructure the local provision of libraries appears to be neglecting the needs of the community.

I am experiencing a similar issue in my own constituency of South Swindon.  Swindon Borough Council is attempting to close vibrant and successful local libraries in an attempt to cut costs.  I have actively campaigned with local residents to keep the libraries open and offer my support to their cause.  Swindon Borough Council is a Conservative controlled authority and is playing politics with this issue, blaming the cutbacks on Government funding.

I would like to offer my support to you in your campaign and I would be very interested in discussing campaigning tactics further.  Please contact me if I can be of any assistance and if you have any suggestions for my area.

With best wishes

Yours sincerely
